Africa is too rich to be poor. NetEd, a leading private higher education platform, believes quality, relevant and accessible education holds the key to unlocking the continent’s vast potential. For Africa to capitalise on its demographic dividend, investing in education is crucial.

NetEd, established by EXEO Capital in 2019, currently brings together three higher education institutions: Eduvos, DaVinci Business School (DBS) and Stellenbosch Business Institute (SBI). Eduvos was formed in 2021 through the acquisition of the former Pearson Institute of Higher Education, while DBS joined the group in 2022 through a minority investment. The group offers tailored executive education through SBI. EXEO Capital is the group’s founding shareholder and promoter, providing strategic support to its board and management with a focus on opportunity origination and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactional support. The partnership between EXEO Capital and NetEd also encompasses stakeholder management, capital raising and governance. Leveraging technology, human capital, and a values-driven culture, NetEd has experienced more than 25% student enrollment growth year-on-year for the past three years. It currently provides fully accredited education to more than 17 000 students at its 13 campuses across South Africa, supported by a network of more than 1 100 educators. It offers an extensive portfolio of over 50 qualifications from higher certificates to PhDs in fields critical to the continent’s skills needs, such as business leadership, innovation, technology, and biosciences. The group prioritises the employability of its students by integrating real-world experiences, industry partnerships, and comprehensive career services into every aspect of their education, ensuring they are ready to excel in the workforce. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, NetEd is building a resilient and collaborative higher education ecosystem to empower a new generation of ethical, innovative, and socially responsible leaders in Africa.
